How we met Sergio
Sergio and Malte met in 2015 on the streets of Palma de Mallorca. At that time still rather unexperienced about handpans, Malte got a deeper insight into the world of these instruments through Sergio and together they played the local markets of Mallorca. They talked a lot about building their own handpans and after a while Sergio was ready to start. Meanwhile he spends most of his daily life in the wooden house of his garden - the workshop. For a good 2 years now, Sergio's instruments have been an integral part of Malte's concert set. Especially the "E Kurd 17" has become a classic since the joint video, which impresses with its virtuosity and versatility - we are very happy to offer it to you here. Solid instruments in a constant high quality.

Sergio about his journey to become a handpan maker
In August 2007 I came in contact with handpans for the first time. I had met a friend who had a round looking backpack with him and before I knew it, I spent the next few hours discovering handpans. I still didn't realize how profoundly my life would change. In 2009 I bought my first own handpan and mainly made street music. You get to know people in a whole new way: From open rejection of the music to emotionally touched passers-by who burst into tears at the melody of my handpan. After 7 years of earning my money playing the handpan, I wanted to learn more about the nature and production of this wonderful instrument and bought the first tools to try to build my own. Since then I have been living my dream - experimenting with new materials and scales and creating instruments that I used to try to find myself. The Handpan is an integral part of my life and my workshop, a small self-built wooden house, is located directly in my garden.
