• Expanded Ashakiran Scale: Evolved from the classic "Asha" design with an additional top note and eight bottom notes, giving vastly expanded harmonic depth - from bright and joyful to tense and introspective.
• Wide 17-Note Range: A far broader canvas than smaller models, ideal for complex melodies, polyphonic structures, and nuanced expression.
• For Intermediate and Advanced Players: Crafted to help musicians push beyond familiar boundaries - on stage, in the studio, or for intensive practice.
• Warm Ember Steel Sound: Made from Ayasa's Ember Steel for warm, rich tones; its brownish-bronze patina may deepen over time without affecting sound quality.
• Ayasa Craftsmanship: Handmade by Ayasa Instruments since 2016, so each instrument is one of a kind.

The Ashakiran scale is one of Malte's longest-standing musical companions. Originally developed in 2017 by Malte in collaboration with Ralf from Ayasa, this layout evolved from the classic "Asha" design, enriched with an additional note on the top shell and eight more on the bottom. The result is a scale with vastly expanded harmonic depth, capable of expressing a wide spectrum of moods - from bright and joyful to tense and introspective. Today, it is considered by many makers to be one of the most sought-after handpan scales worldwide.

For Intermediate and Advanced Players

The C Ashakiran 17 is designed for players who already have experience with the handpan and are looking for greater complexity, a wider range of tones, and deeper musical possibilities. With 17 carefully tuned notes, this instrument offers a far broader canvas than smaller models - ideal for complex melodies, polyphonic structures, and nuanced expression.

Whether on stage, in the studio, or for intensive practice, the C Ashakiran 17 is crafted to help musicians push beyond familiar boundaries and expand their artistic repertoire.

Sound and Build

Ayasa instruments are made from Ember Steel, known for its warm, rich tones. The patina on ember steel gives the handpan a unique brownish/bronze color that may change over time. This change in color doesn't affect the sound quality - it simply adds a vintage character to the instrument.
