Our encounter with Peter, Richard, Aron and Patrik
The first time we performed in Budapest, Patrik and Richard from MAG came to us very excited to introduce us to their instruments. We sat down together in the backstage and tried them. Before we had heard that 4 guys, Peter, Richard, Aron and Patrik are building handpans in Hungary - after this meeting they were definitely on our radar. The dedication with which they have pursue building great instruments is incredible. A team that couldn't complement each other better. Their handpans are solid, well balanced instruments that reflect the character of these 4. They also organize with all their hearts the Handpan Festival "HUG" in Hungary, where we played in 2019 and were allowed to add our first own MAG's to the concert set.
MAG on their journey to become a handpan maker
MAG Instruments was born in 2014 in Győr, a small sleepy town in Hungary. Peter, Richard, Aron and Patrik joined forces with the goal to follow their dream and become the first Hungarian handpan makers. Full of enthusiasm and commitment they dedicated all their energy to the development of high quality instruments. After almost three years this process was completed: a sonorous handpan, balanced harmonics and a unique sound character. The MAG Handpan was born. Besides their love for handpan and making music, the MAG team created the Hungarian Hanpan Gathering (HUG) and organizes it as an annual festival for handpan enthusiasts from all over the world.
