Try a handpan in Zwolle: Handpan School

MMM certifiedBy appointment only

Berno van der Wal founded Handpan School in Zwolle after completing the Malte Marten Method teacher training; today several teachers work with the school across the Netherlands. He has played guitar and in bands since childhood and came to the handpan through ambient electronic music.

For some people the handpan really becomes a way to connect with themselves. Sometimes I'm simply the mirror that shows them what is coming up.

Trying a handpan at Handpan School

Most people start at Handpan School with an introductory workshop and then continue with private lessons or a group course. First-timers usually ask the same two things: how do I get a sound out of it, and how should I hit it? After the workshop, Berno says, most are amazed at how much they have learned in such a short time.

In the studio you can try the YataoPan C Ashakiran 15, a scale that surprised Berno himself. Further models on request. Visits by appointment only.
