MMM certifiedBy appointment only

Max Mandt-Merck runs Klangauszeiten in Hamburg-Altona. As a sound practitioner he works with gongs, singing bowls, native flutes and handpan, leads meditation sessions and teaches handpan as a certified Malte Marten Method teacher. His aim is to help people step out of everyday distractions and come back to themselves.

The handpan reflects how relaxed you are. Loosen your body and your mind, and a beautiful sound comes almost by itself.

Trying a handpan at Klangauszeiten

A visit with Max starts with slowing down. His first advice for beginners: don't be afraid of the instrument. A pleasant sound comes quickly once you relax your hands and your mind. The step most people find hardest later on is moving from playing by structure to playing by feel, and that is where Max likes to accompany his students.

Max plays the D Kurd, E Amara and F# Low Pygmy scales himself and chooses by mood. Tell us which models you would like to compare, and we will send them to Klangauszeiten before your appointment. Visits by appointment only.

Questions for Max

Can I combine a handpan visit with a sound session?

Max also offers sound and meditation sessions with gongs, singing bowls and handpan. Mention it in your request and he will suggest a date.

Which scale does Max recommend?

Max plays the D Kurd, E Amara and F# Low Pygmy and says the moment often decides: sometimes the situation picks the handpan. If you are unsure, compare two or three scales at your appointment.
