The Mudra G Major is a handpan that does something rare in the handpan world: it makes you smile. Where most scales reach for introspection, melancholy, or mystery, the G Major brings an unabashed brightness - uplifting, warm, and full of joy. It is one of the few truly major handpans, and one that carries a musical openness that feels both immediately inviting and endlessly expressive. In Mudra's hands, built with stainless steel and the exceptional craftsmanship the Brazilian workshop is known for, the G Major reaches a tonal richness that few instruments of its character can match.

For Beginners and Advanced Players Alike

The major scale is one of the most natural and universally recognizable musical structures in the world - bright, uplifting, and harmonically generous. On the handpan, this translates into an instrument that is immediately intuitive to play and joyful to listen to. Every note feels positive and resolved, every melody feels like it wants to go somewhere good. The G Major scale plays beautifully with E minor and D Mixolydian scales, making it an excellent choice for ensemble playing and jamming with other musicians.

This is not a scale that limits expression - it expands it. From sweet, flowing melodic lines to energetic rhythmic passages, from solo meditations to lively musical conversations, the G Major handpan adapts to every context with ease. It is the handpan that brings light into the room.

Sound and Build

Every Mudra handpan is crafted from their own developed stainless steel - a material selected and developed specifically for its acoustic properties. The result is a sound that is clear, consistent, and velvety, with beautiful harmonics, a warm fundamental tone, and a sustain that fills the room. The surface finish is precise and smooth, with a tactile quality that responds naturally to different playing techniques.

The G Major produces a sound that is warm, bright, and joyful - uplifting in character and positive in every tone. Its full major structure means that chords resolve cleanly and naturally, melodies carry an innate sense of direction, and improvisation flows easily from note to note. There is nothing forced or searching about the G Major: it knows exactly where it is going, and it takes you there with a smile. The central G3 ding gives the instrument a grounded, resonant foundation that anchors the brightness of the upper notes without dulling their clarity.

Each Mudra handpan is individually handcrafted and passes through a meticulous tuning process before leaving the workshop - ensuring that every note, overtone, and resonance meets the maker's exacting standards.

About Mudra Handpan

Mudra Handpan was founded by Rafael Ortega, a musician and builder from Brazil whose journey to the handpan began after years as a music producer, composer, and explorer of acoustics and psychoacoustics. His first encounter with the instrument reignited a passion for music in its purest form - and led him to study its fabrication from the ground up.

Today, Mudra is one of the most respected handpan makers worldwide, with instruments played by professional musicians and artists worldwide. Mudra also develops and supplies its own shells for makers worldwide under the Mira brand - a further testament to the technical precision and materials knowledge that underpins everything the workshop produces.

Additional Notes

  • The visual appearance may differ slightly from the example image, as each Mudra handpan is individually handcrafted.
  • Surface finish may show minor natural variations — this does not affect sound or tuning.
