Mudra G Minor 17
The Mudra G2 Minor 17 is a handpan that surprises from the very first note. Rooted in an exceptionally deep G2 ding, this instrument sits in a tonal register that few handpans ever reach - warm, room-filling, and immediately captivating. Its natural minor scale is both accessible and emotionally rich, with a light, almost luminous quality that makes beautiful melodies feel effortless. This is a handpan that welcomes players of every level, and rewards them with a sound that feels genuinely special.
For Beginners and Advanced Players Alike
The G minor scale is one of the most universally appealing in the handpan world. Its natural minor structure is complete and immediately expressive - every note belongs, every combination resonates. Yet unlike the deeper, more melancholic character of a D Kurd, the G2 Minor carries a softer, warmer atmosphere: visionary and accessible, with a light character that effortlessly creates beautiful melodies and evokes a sense of calm trust and openness.
The octave leap from the central G2 ding to the lowest side note, G3, creates a strong, grounded bass foundation - one of the most distinctive features of this scale. This gives the instrument an unusual sense of depth and presence, while the upper notes shimmer and sing above it with clarity and warmth.
With 17 notes spread across top and bottom, this instrument extends the G2 Minor to its fullest expression, enabling layered compositions, expressive improvisation, and a musical range that opens new possibilities at every session.

Sound and Build
Every Mudra handpan is crafted from their own developed stainless steel - a material selected and developed specifically for its acoustic properties. The result is a sound that is clear, consistent, and velvety, with beautiful harmonics, a warm fundamental tone, and a sustain that fills the room. The surface finish is precise and smooth, with a tactile quality that responds naturally to different playing techniques.
The G2 Minor's defining feature is its extraordinarily deep ding - a G2 that delivers a room-filling bass foundation unlike anything a standard-register handpan can produce. The full octave jump to the first side note creates a sense of space and gravitas that anchors every melody played above it. Upper tones are warm and clear, with a soft brightness that makes the scale feel approachable and inviting without ever feeling shallow. In this layout, the extended bottom side adds further harmonic depth and range, giving the player everything needed for expressive solo performance and rich compositional work.
Each Mudra handpan is individually handcrafted and passes through a meticulous tuning process before leaving the workshop - ensuring that every note, overtone, and resonance meets the maker's exacting standards.
About Mudra Handpan
Mudra Handpan was founded by Rafael Ortega, a musician and builder from Brazil whose journey to the handpan began after years as a music producer, composer, and explorer of acoustics and psychoacoustics. His first encounter with the instrument reignited a passion for music in its purest form - and led him to study its fabrication from the ground up.
Today, Mudra is one of the most respected handpan makers worldwide, with instruments played by professional musicians and artists worldwide. Mudra also develops and supplies its own shells for makers worldwide under the Mira brand - a further testament to the technical precision and materials knowledge that underpins everything the workshop produces.
Additional Notes
- The visual appearance may differ slightly from the example image, as each Mudra handpan is individually handcrafted.
